Privacy Policy

echokeeps ("we", "us") helps you collect voice messages for an event and listen back to them later. Events are created directly by echokeeps, on request, after you reach out on TikTok, Instagram, or by email. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Information we collect

  • When your event is created: the event name, the type of occasion, and the email address your links are sent to.
  • If you reach out to request an event: whatever you send us to set it up, such as your social media handle, your message, or your email address.
  • When a guest records a message: the name they choose to give, and the voice recording itself, provided directly by the guest.
  • Automatically: standard technical logs (like IP address and browser type) collected by our hosting infrastructure for security and operational purposes.

How we use it

  • To run the service: generate your QR code and private links, store and deliver recordings, and email you the links for your event.
  • To send the one-time setup email, and any resend you request yourself.
  • If you turn on transcription for an event, to generate a text transcript of each recording.

We don't use your information for advertising, and we never sell it.

Who we share it with

echokeeps runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS), which stores and processes all event and recording data on our behalf. If you enable transcription, recordings are also sent to Amazon Transcribe for that purpose. We don't share your data with any other third party.

How long we keep it

Your event and its recordings are kept until you delete the event, which permanently removes it and every recording in it. Want something removed on your behalf? Email us below.

Your private link

The link that lets you listen to your recordings is a secret credential. We only ever store a one-way cryptographic hash of it, never the link itself, which means even we can't recover it if it's lost. If that happens, a new one can be generated, and the old one stops working.

Recordings from minors

If your event may include guests under the age of digital consent in their region, such as children at a birthday party, you're responsible for getting whatever consent is appropriate and for supervising their participation. We don't knowingly collect information directly from children, and echokeeps isn't directed at children.

Cookies and tracking

echokeeps doesn't use cookies or third-party advertising trackers. Staying signed in uses your browser's session storage, which clears when you close your browser.

Security

All traffic to echokeeps is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and data is encrypted at rest. Access to recordings is restricted to whoever holds the private owner link for that event. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can delete your own event and everything in it at any time, or contact us for anything else.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and let you know by email where we have one on file for you.

By using echokeeps, you agree to these terms.

What echokeeps is

echokeeps lets you have an event page set up for collecting voice messages from guests, and listen back to them later through a private link.

Getting an event set up

Events are created directly by echokeeps, on request. You reach out on TikTok, Instagram, or by email, and we create your event and send you a QR code and a private link. You're responsible for keeping that link confidential once you have it: anyone who holds it can listen to every recording on your event.

Acceptable use

When you request an event or submit a recording, you agree not to:

  • Upload or record anything illegal, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Collect recordings from someone without their knowledge that they're being recorded.
  • Try to access another event's recordings or owner link without permission.
  • Use the service to send spam, abuse the upload system, or disrupt echokeeps for others.

We may remove content or suspend access for anyone who violates these terms.

Content ownership

Guests retain ownership of the voice message they record. By recording a message, a guest gives the event owner permission to listen to, keep, and use that recording for the personal purpose the event was created for. echokeeps doesn't claim ownership of any recording.

Service availability

echokeeps is provided "as is." We aim to keep it reliably available but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and some features (like transcription) may occasionally be unavailable for reasons outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, echokeeps isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of recordings. A lost owner link can't be recovered, only replaced, and replacing it invalidates the old one.

Changes to the service or these terms

We may update these terms or change the service over time. We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever we do.
